Prof. Darelle van Greunen (PhD)
Nelson Mandela University, South Africa
Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we create, think, and engage with knowledge, prompting a fundamental reimagining of creativity and critical thinking. Rather than replacing human intelligence, AI is emerging as a powerful collaborator. In this evolving landscape, creativity is no longer confined to individual effort but is increasingly co-produced through dynamic human–AI interaction, enabling new forms of expression and innovation. As education, research, and society adapt, there is a growing imperative to cultivate future-ready competencies that balance technological capability with humanity. Ultimately, reimagining creativity and critical thinking with AI is not only about leveraging new tools, but about shaping a future where innovation remains grounded in human purpose, dignity, and responsibility.
